Whether you come alone, with friends or with your team: you cook with fresh spices and go home with dishes you can truly make yourself. If you'd rather master the technique itself, take a cooking lesson.

Cooking lessons
Rather learn the technique than the dish?
A workshop is a good evening built around one dish. A cooking lesson is about the technique underneath it: cutting, tempering spices, building a masala, knowing when something is done. You use that in every Indian recipe afterwards.

Workshop or lesson?
Both are Indian cooking with fresh spices, and both send you home with the recipe and the spices. The difference is why you come.
Workshop
A good time, cooking together
You make one dish with friends, family or colleagues and eat it together afterwards. The company comes first; you pick up plenty along the way.
Make one dish together and eat it together
With friends, family or colleagues
An outing, not a course
Cooking lesson
Getting the technique down
This one is about learning. The focus is on technique, practised until it really sticks, so that at home you can make not one dish but ten.
The focus is technique, not a single recipe
One to one or in a small group
Skills that work with every recipe
A cooking lesson includes the same promise: the full recipe to take home plus one portion of every spice in it, exactly enough to make it once more at home.
Always: recipe and spices to take home
With every format you take home the full recipe and one portion of all the spices from it: exactly enough to make the dish once more at home. So you can recreate it without a doubt.
Learn to cook better and healthier
My goal is that after the lesson you cook Indian food independently and with joy, with balanced spices and fresh ingredients.
Understand what each spice does, instead of following packets
Fresh vegetables and smart, healthier techniques
From quick weekday dishes to advanced classics

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a workshop and a cooking lesson? +
In a workshop we make one dish together and eat it together afterwards. It's a good time with friends, family or colleagues, as much an outing as a class. A cooking lesson is about technique: cutting, tempering spices, building a masala. Those skills carry over to every recipe. Either way you take the recipe and the spices home.
What does an Indian cooking workshop in Heerenveen cost? +
A workshop with friends is €40 per person for about 3 hours of cooking. That covers all ingredients and fresh spices, eating together afterwards what you have made, and going home with the recipe plus a portion of every spice that went into it. There is nothing to bring and nothing to buy afterwards. A private workshop at your home and company outings are quoted on request, because the price depends on your location, the group size and the menu.
How long does a workshop or cooking lesson take? +
Around 3 hours. In a workshop we cook together and then sit down to eat what we have made. In a one-to-one cooking lesson that same time goes into technique: explanation, doing it yourself, and repeating it until it sticks. Large events and group lessons run shorter or longer, which we agree beforehand.
What does a cooking lesson cost? +
A single lesson is €55 per person, including all ingredients and spices. A pack of 10 costs €495 instead of €550: 10% off, which works out at €49.50 per lesson. The pack is valid for two years and we plan the dates together. Group lessons are quoted on request.
Where can I take a cooking lesson? +
A one-to-one lesson takes place in your kitchen or in mine in Heerenveen, whichever you prefer. If you pick your own kitchen outside Heerenveen I agree any travel costs with you beforehand. Prefer company? I can arrange a small-group lesson, priced to fit.
Looking for fun things to do in Heerenveen? +
A cooking workshop or cooking lesson is a fun, original outing in Heerenveen and Friesland, with friends, as a date or as a team activity. You learn something new and eat together.
How many people can join? +
A workshop with friends is for a maximum of 4 people. Private workshops can be larger. Cooking lessons are one to one or in a small group. For colleagues/teams we make a tailored offer.
Where do the lessons take place? +
At a location in Heerenveen, at your home or at a venue. For team outings I come to you or we arrange a suitable place together.
Do I need cooking experience? +
No. We build from simple to more complex dishes, so both beginners and advanced cooks can join.
Can you accommodate dietary needs? +
Absolutely. Much Indian food is naturally vegetarian or vegan. Let me know allergies and wishes with your request.
